Queensland small businesses can apply for grants of up to $20,000 to improve security at their premises or protect work vehicles, tools and equipment under an expanded state government funding program.
The Secure Communities Partnership Program’s Small Business Security Grants offer funding for measures such as alarm systems, surveillance cameras, security lighting and access controls.
Mobile businesses, including tradies, can apply for between $1,500 and $20,000 to improve the security of work vehicles, trailers, tools and equipment, while businesses operating from fixed premises can seek between $2,500 and $20,000.
The latest round also allows authorised property owners and lessors to apply for security improvements that directly benefit eligible small business tenants.
A new Shared Security Grants stream will provide between $20,000 and $200,000 for larger projects designed to protect groups of small and family businesses in areas such as shopping strips, industrial estates and local business precincts.
Eligibility requirements, application information and closing dates are available at business.qld.gov.au/securegrant.
