About 55 seniors gathered in Ayr last Thursday for a morning of high tea, trivia and prizes as part of Queensland Seniors Month.
The Burdekin Community Association (BCA) hosted its free Hats Off! Game On! event at Sacred Heart Parish Hall, with six staff helping deliver the morning.
Guests enjoyed morning tea, brain-teasing trivia, games and prizes, most sporting decorated hats.
BCA chief executive Debra Cochran said the event was an opportunity to recognise the contributions of older residents and bring people together.
“It was a privilege to organise the High Tea event and we sincerely hope that everyone who attended enjoyed the morning,” she said.
Queensland Seniors Month runs throughout October under the theme Connect and Celebrate, recognising the value older Queenslanders bring to their families, neighbourhoods and wider communities.
