Brandon Bowls Club has capped off a busy month on the greens, with a father-and-son pairing claiming the club's Grand Final title after a thrilling championship match and bowlers from across North Queensland turning out in force for President Helen's Day.

Chris and Gary emerged victorious in the Grand Final, overcoming defending champions Lloyd Shepherd and Kev Collins in a high-quality contest played under pressure.

The win marked a special moment for the club, with the father-and-son combination earning the right to represent Brandon at the Champion of Champions event in Townsville.

The championship capped a successful month for the club, which also welcomed a full green of competitors for President Helen's Day.

Players travelled from NQDLBA, Ayr, Home Hill, Alligator Creek, Wangaratta, Jubilee, South Townsville, Suburban and Saint George, creating one of the club's best-supported social events of the year.

The day was made possible with the support of Marissa and Danny O'Shea, whose sponsorship was acknowledged by the club.

The event also attracted four beginner bowlers, with members pleased to see new faces trying the sport.

Competitive bowls, plenty of laughter and afternoon tea kept players busy throughout the afternoon, while the event provided an opportunity for old friends to reconnect and new friendships to be formed.

Club members thanked President Helen for hosting the day and bringing together bowlers from across the region, helping round out another successful month for Brandon Bowls Club.
