NEWCOMER MAKES MARK ON THE HOME HILL GREENS

Contributed with thanks by Stephen Doig

‍

Eighteen players turned out on a very warm spring afternoon that felt more like summer.

Three games of triples were played.

‍

Rink 3: Bob Young, Roslyn DeFranciscus and Trevor Elton defeated Maureen Marsden, Sandra Darwin and Bruce McCallum.

Rink 4: Paul Vass, Judy Elton and Tony Eadie accounted for Janet Arthur, Les Hoey and Gary Nosworthy.

‍

Rink 5: Des Chapman, Ron Smith and Glen Bones Berryman had a big win over Belinda McConville, Steve Doig and Phil Marsden.

It was noted that Belinda, a newcomer to bowls, had a toucher and held three shots over Des, a seasoned bowler, on the penultimate end. Good one, Belinda!

‍

The meat tray raffle was won by Judy Elton, with Mick Olsen taking home a bottle of wine.
