Hotel Pioneer hosted a healthy crowd of lederhosen-clad locals for its Oktoberfest celebrations last Saturday.
Running from 11am until just after lunchtime, the event invited attendees to indulge in a range of German-inspired foods and activities, with local performer Chris Quagliata providing live music throughout.
Hotel General Manager Kirsten Loader said the event “went really well,” with people embracing the German theme through their attire.
“We had a few people dress up for the event and they looked fantastic,” she said.
“The keg rolling was a lot of fun—and we had planned on a pretzel eating competition, but everyone was so full after lunch that we couldn’t convince anyone to eat anything else!”
Kirsten thanked the hotel chefs, organiser Michelle and all who attended the event, which she hopes to put on again next year.
“It will be back bigger and better,” she said.
“Thank you to everyone who made the day a lot of fun.”
