HOME HILL COMMUNITY SPORTS CLUB ACKNOWLEDGES SHIRE PARK IMPROVEMENT

A Message to our Mayor, Councilors, Council Staff & Contractors  

Home Hill CSC members would like to express sincere thanks and appreciation for the wonderful work that has been done at the park adjacent to our club. The transformation has been remarkable. The park now looks neat, fresh and inviting so much, so it is clearly evident by the increased use by young families who frequently visit. For club members out, for an afternoon of bowls has become more enjoyable since the removal of two large trees identified for removal plus the severe pruning of another close to the cenotaph. The completed work undertaken by Shire staff and contractors has improved the landscape and reduced damage to our playing surface but more importantly has improved safety in the park. Seeing young families out enjoying the facility has a calming effect overall for all present in the vicinity. Too often good work goes unnoticed, so on behalf of club president and Home Hill members we extend a big thank you for your efforts which have made such a difference for the community as a whole.

Wednesday night saw Two (2) games of triples and One (1) game of pairs played in good social spirit and perfect conditions for an evening of bowls kicked off with a sausage sizzle prepared by head Barbeque chef Ron Smith. Considering having a game, names in by 5.30pm Ph 0468313115.

Thursday Club Day

Members welcomed a new visitor, Mark Francis, from the Mackay region.

On the green Three (3) games of triples and One Game of pairs were played. On Rink Three (3) the pairs game Mick McCloskey and Terry Feakes played Rob Darr and Bob Young resulting in Mick McCloskey and Terry Feakes taking the win in what was a relatively close encounter. On Rink Four (4) Jeff Taylor, Steve Mutu, and Mark Francis had a win on the last end by one over Trevor Elton, Nev Webb, and Bob Pickard. On Rink Five (5) Gary Nosworthy, Dino Poli, and Des Chapman had a convincing win over Bruce McCallum, Les Hoey, and Paul Vass. On Rink (6) a lady’s event Katarina Stucker, Betty Webb, and Janet Arthur had a close win over Sandra Darwin, Judy Elton, and Margaret Chapman.

Random Rink winners for the afternoon were Mick McCluskey and Terry Feakes. Congratulations gentlemen.  

Raffle of the day of Seafood was won by our visitor Mark Francis and second prize of a bottle of wine was won by Steve Mutu. Congratulations.

Saturday afternoon bowls saw Three (3) games of triples played in perfect conditions. The afternoon was enjoyed by all present.
