Ayr’s first electric lighting scheme took place at Pioneer and Kalamia Sugar Mills in the sugar rooms in 1894 and 1895. Conditions on the day were very pleasant, the sun was shining and clouds rolling in from time to time making seeing the targets challenging at times.
