Queensland state schools will celebrate their students, staff and communities during State Education Week from 26th to 30th October.

The annual event recognises the work of public schools in helping students reach their potential, with schools encouraged to share stories highlighting achievements and initiatives within their communities.

‍

Schools can celebrate by recognising high-achieving students, dedicated staff, former students giving back to their communities and projects making a difference to young people.

‍

Parents, carers, community members, local businesses and other schools are also encouraged to get involved in celebrations and planning.

Queensland state schools can share their stories through words, photographs and videos on social media using the hashtags #StateEdWeek and #GreatStoriesStartHere.

‍

Schools can also submit stories to communication@qed.qld.gov.au for the opportunity to be featured on Queensland Department of Education social media channels.

‍

The department encourages schools to highlight the different ways public education supports students to fulfil their potential.
