An award-winning film exploring the challenges of rural life and mental health will screen at the Burdekin Theatre on Sunday, 25th October.
Just a Farmer follows the struggles and triumphs of rural communities, highlighting mental health challenges and the importance of community resilience.
Mayor Pierina Dalle Cort said the film could help spark important conversations about mental health in farming communities.
“Mental health is often a silent struggle in farming communities,” she said.
“This film brings that reality to the forefront, starting conversations that can change lives.”
A question-and-answer session with writer and producer Leila McDougall and Warren Davies, known as The Unbreakable Farmer, will take place before the screening, giving attendees an opportunity to discuss the film’s themes.
Doors open at 3pm, with the screening commencing at 4pm.
