At the RLTD Dr Rod Ward Presentation Night at Brothers in Townsville last Friday night, Burdekin Roosters under-19 half Chad Fraser was named RLTD Under-19 Player of the Year.
Chad has had a great season, leading his team to the under-19 grand final while also playing three A-grade games.
Chad was also captain and half of the Burdekin Catholic High School Confraternity team, which played at Marist Brothers Ashgrove in Brisbane.
Evergreen utility back Dylan Doak was named the RLTD Best Back in Reserve Grade.
Even though his team finished well out of the finals race, Dylan was a standout player, scoring many tries as well as kicking some great goals.
Jake O’Brien has played several positions in the backline for the A-grade Roosters and has stood out in all of them, so much so that he was named on the shortlist of three for the Best A-Grade Player in Townsville.
Jake was then named the Best Back in A Grade for 2026.
Roosters A-grade captain and forward Lachlan Shepherd must also have come into calculations, having recently been named by Radio SSS among the top 10 Townsville A-grade players.
