The Burdekin Roosters’ A-Grade finals hopes are alive and kicking after a gutsy 32-22 victory over Townsville Brothers at Jack Manski Oval on Saturday.

In a high-stakes Round 15 clash, the Roosters dug deep to outlast a fierce Brothers outfit, keeping their season on life support heading into the final round of the regular season.

The Under 19s also fell on the day, going down 42-12 against a dominant home side. Despite the loss, the U19s had already locked in a top-two finish and will get an immediate shot at revenge when they face Brothers again in Week One of the finals.

A strong contingent of Burdekin Old Boys and Travelling Supporters made the trip to Townsville, providing crucial vocal support in the A-Grade side’s must-win performance.

The Roosters now turn their attention to the final regular-season fixture, where A-Grade must win again to secure a post-season berth.
