The Burdekin Panthers FC Colts have capped off a dominant regular season by finishing as undefeated minor premiers.
The Colts sealed top spot with a convincing 4-1 win over Brothers, overcoming a second-half equaliser to finish the regular season without a loss.
Burdekin started strongly, peppering the Brothers goal with shots from range before a strong run from Cooper Kross created the opening.
The ball fell kindly to Brayden Card following a deflection, with the striker forcing it over the line to give the Colts a 1-0 lead.
Despite creating countless opportunities, the Colts could not extend their advantage before half-time.
Caleb Formilan was particularly dangerous down the left flank, delivering several threatening crosses as Burdekin continued to apply pressure.
Brothers struck back early in the second half, catching the Colts out from a free kick to level the scores.
The equaliser, however, only prompted another gear from the Panthers, with the Colts responding with three unanswered goals.
Ryley Siandri restored Burdekin’s lead before Max Kelly and Xavier Roncato found the back of the net to complete the 4-1 victory.
The Colts will face Warriors in the first-versus-second semi-final at Paradise Park this week, with a grand final berth on the line.
