Young golfers across the state are gearing up for one of the junior golf calendar’s premier events, the Karrie Webb Junior Masters, which will grace Ayr Golf Club later this month.

‍

Named after the Burdekin's own international golfing legend, Karrie Webb—who will be in attendance—the tournament will see juniors go head-to-head across 18-hole, nine-hole, six-hole and three-hole events on the 24th and 25th October.

‍

The competition will serve as a Greg Norman Junior Masters Open qualifier and an Ayr Golf Club honour board event, already garnering interest from as far as Brisbane.

Last year’s competition saw a field of 90 juniors take to the course, with Dallas Douglas and Jazarah Kamu emerging as 18-hole boys and girls champions from a talent pool spanning North Queensland.

‍

Organisers are hoping for another strong field of competitors this year, with nominations remaining open until 22nd October.

Juniors can nominate for any of the four formats, with two-day entry fees ranging from $15 to $35.

‍

A presentation dinner will be held at Ayr Golf Club on Saturday, 24th October, from 6pm, with tickets costing $30 for adults and $15 for children.

‍

Nominations and dinner bookings can be made by emailing juniorcaptain@ayrgc.com.au.
